For more than 35 years I’ve read Sci-Fi and Fantasy, two or three books per week. At least five thousand books at a rough count. I’ve read each possible genre. Some were good books, some were brilliant books. Eventually, I decided to give it a try, to start writing myself and hopefully, my books will bring joy to other fiction fans, the way worlds imagined by others enchanted my life.

PHOENIX is a debut novel, It is part of the planned QUEEN’S AVATAR a trilogy introducing the Haillar Universe, a world of mystery and tradition, of honour and sacrifice.

I want you to discover the Haillar worlds step by step, together with Endeavour’s human crew. PHOENIX is the First Contact part of the story, introducing the main character and the Haillar Universe. The historical background and Haillar society will continue to be substantiated in its two sequels.

Starting from the first book, Phoenix, I tried to create a complex and rich alien society, with its own customs and rituals, sometimes familiar, sometimes alien and puzzling. Every chapter in the first and second volumes we learn something new about the Haillar, be it through their own eyes or from human perspective.

The same applies to the main characters, be they alien or human. Though built in detail from the first pages, none of the main protagonists is fully defined. Every episode readers, and indeed the characters themselves, discover new aspects of their personality.

It is hard for me to stick a subcategory label on the QUEEN’S AVATAR: Space Opera, Fantasy, Romance, Military SciFi. It has elements of each of them, as the action unfolds at various levels. Phoenix is not a Hard SciFi either, though I was always tried to maintain the plot and scientific premises credible within the norms of the genre.

I hope you will love this series and follow it to the very end. I intend to post periodically updates in a video form, as 2-5 min clips both on YouTube and on Amazon. I believe them to be easier to follow than lengthy narratives posts.
