It provides step by step instruction on how to start Christian clubs. Ingrid DeDecker answers the questions about Separation of Church and State as it relates to faith in schools and brings them to a place of clarity and implementation for everyone.
-Linda McLaughlin, Elementary School Educator, ret.

Bring the Light to School is a much needed book as to how Christian organizers can help Christian students activate Christian clubs to deepen their faith. Our public school heritage has roots with many Christian churches but calls for separation between church and state which led to key Supreme Court decisions such as Engel v. Vitale and Abington School District v. Schempp. These cases disallowed school prayer and scriptures and also centered about the role of religion in public schools. Since these decisions, many Christian organizers needed guidance as to how best to assist students deepen their faith with other like-minded students while attending school. Ingrid DeDecker’s book provides much needed guidance and addresses everything from Separation of Church and State to first amendment rights. This book is a must-read.
-Dr. Patrick Rice, Author, Vanishing School Boards, former teacher, principal and adjunct professor

A Vegetable Garden Adventure: Children’s Adventure Story (New Stories Book 1) by Daniel D. Horvat

Children's Adventure Story (New Stories Book 1) by Daniel D. HorvatAs they moved with their parents to their new house, a sister and a brother found a silkworm inside a garden shed. The silkworm was trapped inside a pendant of a necklace with a note: “Read this saying in a single breath to become small and set free the silkworm by blowing through the hole on the backside of the pendant!”

So they did, but nothing happened. The children didn’t become small. They promised the silkworm to come and try again the next day and went to eat their dinner and to sleep. The next morning they woke up — the a size of a pea!

They’d read the saying the right way, only the results had a slight delay! They needed to find a way to reach the garden shed. In spite of their great desire to help the silkworm, they wanted a chance to grow back again, because the note also included this: “When you complete the task, return to the place where you became little, so you could grow back again.”

The children felt scared of being so little, considering how everything else around them seemed huge. Regardless, they were coping with their fears together, encouraging one another and becoming more reliable on each other.

Believing in their task of helping the silkworm gave them the courage for a 3-day journey across the garden, where they met lots of animals that helped them at their most difficult moments.

This fascinating children’s adventure story is created and structured for all children from toddlers to young adults from 5 to 15 years old and is easy to read for beginning readers. It is action packed and teaches children to work towards achieving the ultimate goal and not giving up, in spite of the difficulty. It teaches children to believe in themselves and supporting others while coping with their fears. There are emotional situations to help children understand what the brother and sister are facing in the story and how they feel. It brings them closer together to comfort each other and cope with their troubles.

The key element that makes this children’s adventure story so fascinating, witty and humorous, is the educational value. Even adults can learn about vegetables and garden animals, their function and duties, and their particular characteristics. How can a caterpillar swing on a leaf without falling? How can a grasshopper jump so high? Why does a snail crawl slowly, and what is the purpose of his tentacles? Why do gophers keep their eyes closed and have no ears? The story explains it all!

You and your kids will enjoy this fascinating and original children adventure story. It is educational and filled with emotions, encouraging the accomplishment of a goal and not giving up, no matter how hard the task feels sometimes.

If you enjoy children’s adventure stories, A Vegetable Garden Adventure is the right choice for you!
