Orton’s Crossing in Time is Free Today!

DL Orton“The Best Science Fiction Love Story of the Year.”
R. J. Kauffman, Panda Books Press

“Engaging, funny, romantic, and harrowing.” Publishers Weekly Starred Review

Remember how it feels to fall in love?

  • Race against the clock through a dystopian nightmare.
  • Climb naked into an untested time machine (carrying a seashell and a promise).
  • Wake up 20 years younger, buck naked and mortally wounded, with your heart in your throat.

This is a perilous journey of passion, loss, and redemption that will have your pulse galloping and your palms sweating, make you laugh out loud through your tears, and leave you flush with the sublime pleasure of being in the arms of the one you love.

Crossing In Time, the first book in the Between Two Evils series, is an action-packed work of cross-genre fiction (because if I said it’s non-fiction you wouldn’t believe me. See how difficult this is going to be?)

Think The Outlander meets Men Are From Mars in the Andromeda Strain (with a healthy dose of Dirty Dancing).

Oh, and every word is true.

Ponticello’s eBook is Free Today!

Ponticello’s second novel, “The Maiden Voyage of the Destiny Unknown,” is a true original. It is a quirky and suspenseful story and is available free today on Amazon.

The Maiden Voyage of The Destiny Unknown by Nicholas Ponticello

author Nicholas PonticelloIt is two hundred million years into the future, and Earth is devastated by a dying sun whose expanding photosphere has melted the surface of the planet and driven humans underground. In this world, humankind is doomed to extinction. But Marcus Fincus thinks he can secure the survival of the human species. He selects a small crew of brave voyagers from the insignificant but determined planet Earth to set out in search of a new home.

Their ship, the Destiny Unknown, is designed to take care of everything. Every meal is regulated to the ounce. Every mile is charted and mapped. Everybody has his or her own unique role in this microsociety: doctor, teacher, electrician, engineer. Then the inevitable happens: the passengers start to behave as people. The captain seduces half the women on the ship, his wife develops a neurological disorder, their sixteen-year-old son runs away in the escape pod, and the doctor dies in a freak scalpel accident.

The Maiden Voyage of the Destiny Unknown is a dark parable about the nature of human existence. Told from the perspective of an alien observer who follows our heroes like an unsympathetic reporter from National Geographic—he refuses to intervene when our heroes come face-to-face with deadly meteor showers, alien cannibals, and other crises that threaten to destroy them all. Funny and philosophical in its treatment of human nature, The Maiden Voyage of the Destiny Unknown not only seeks to understand the place of humans in the universe—it also seeks to address the looming question: What makes us so special?

Shaffer’s eBook is Free!

shafferGavin is a man who has lost his faith in God.

During a periodic meeting with his lifelong friend and religious mentor, Dr. Faulkner Brickley, Gavin confesses that he is no longer a believer. Alarmed that his friend has lost the capacity to see that life can be extraordinary, the professor decides it’s time to reveal a secret. “We can either choose to use our talents or not to use them,” he tells Gavin before dramatically demonstrating to him that God has granted him with an amazing gift.

Meanwhile, Gavin runs into his old flame at a funeral. He brought Elizabeth Kashner into the faith, all those years ago. But in his state of grief following the death of his father, he had told Elizabeth he no longer wanted her in his life. Although their chance meeting stirs up old feelings, nothing much comes of it—until Elizabeth goes on a missionary trip to the Russian republic of Ingushetia.

When Elizabeth ends up being held hostage, Gavin offers to use his newfound talent to win her freedom. In the meantime, Elizabeth’s own plan of escape is to create a bond with one of her captors.  As a result of their adventures, lives are changed—in very surprising ways.
