Wings of Heart by M K Devidasan
Haridas, an airman in the Indian Air Force, is stationed in Delhi when life takes an unexpected turn. His senior, Flight Sergeant Kapoor, requests him to tutor his daughter, Premlatha, a lively and intelligent twelfth-grader. Their contrasting personalities ignite an unanticipated affection, but their budding romance faces challenges, particularly from Rajiv, Premlatha’s cousin, who disapproves of their relationship. Despite societal pressures, the couple grows closer, finding solace in shared moments. A trip to Gopinath Bazar strengthens their bond but triggers unforeseen consequences when an anonymous letter alerts Haridas’s conservative parents in Kerala.
Summoned home, Haridas respects his family’s wishes but resolves to focus on his career and Premlatha’s future. Tragedy strikes when Premlatha’s family dies in a road accident, leaving her in Punjab with her maternal uncle, who plans to marry her off to his son. To escape, Premlatha moves to Kerala under the guise of studying Mohiniyattam. Fate leads her to Suma, a dance teacher who is revealed to be Haridas’s mother. Premlatha, keeping this secret, writes supportive letters to Haridas, omitting her address.
When Haridas completes his training, Suma invites Premlatha to his passing-out parade. Witnessing his excellence, Premlatha’s love deepens. Haridas is overwhelmed to find her there and declares his love. His parents, moved by their devotion, consent to their union. Back in Kerala, Haridas and Premlatha marry in a grand ceremony, their love triumphing over trials, celebrating resilience, destiny, and unbreakable bonds.
