We are not being led to the stars by responsible and dutiful lovers of humanity but by reactionary and profit-seeking elites who wish for the class system to be eternal. If every nation other than the USA sank tomorrow with all hands lost, why would NASA continue to exist? It wouldn’t.
All national space agencies as well as private space exploration and colonisation businesses and corporations only exist due to there being competitor nations. Gone be Russia, the EU and China and gone be NASA immediately. Does it seem reasonable and responsible to spend trillions on the colonisation of the stars solely due to international competition and the frail ego and fear of a few elites? No, this is a terrible reason to divert much-needed funds and finite natural resources to unworkable, fantasy space colonisation.
Let us imagine there is but one nation on Earth, why would anyone wish to leave? This proves the motivations for colonisation are fear and greed and a means for the few to virtue signal, project their supremacy, wealth, decadence and scientific benevolence and for a handful of adrenaline junkies and obsessives who refuse to get their house and planet in order to get a cheap thrill while humanity becomes bastardised and changed into something terrible, enslaved and cursed.
