Eve Moran’s Book 1 of the Thuis Series

In her other existence, Eve Moran has worked as an English lecturer and a motorsport journalist. She has also been involved in developing a series of interactive children’s books.

eve moranIn Thuis, no one is above the rules.

Officially, Thuis is ruled by the panel, but the true power is held by the committee. They control from a sedentary position, monitoring everything.

As the keeper, it’s Patriz’s responsibility to ensure that the rules are being kept. Sanctions are applied for any breaches – no excuses, no exceptions.

Not even when his own family are breaking the rules.

Tension is rising in Thuis. The panel has been receiving anonymous threats, which is making the leader, Mal, more paranoid than usual. His accusations are relentless, and most of them are directed at Patriz’s sister, Olla. It’s Olla’s son, Connor, who Mal really resents, though. Connor will be his successor, and Mal is determined to prove that he’s unworthy.

Knowing that Mal is trying to gather evidence of Connor flouting the rules, Patriz is keeping a very close eye on his nephew. But he’s so busy monitoring Connor that he misses something crucial.

He fails to notice that Olla’s in over her head.

About the author, Eve Moran:

Eve MoranEve Moran is a pseudonym.

In her other existence, Eve has worked as an English lecturer and a motorsport journalist. She has also been involved in developing a series of interactive children’s books.

In the past, Eve studied dystopian literature, and this remains one of her key interests. Particular favourites in this genre are We by Yevgeny Zamyatin and 1984 by George Orwell.

Eve has some books that will always be special to her. Out of the classics, she loves Bronte’s Wuthering Heights and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. She also adores Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mocking Bird and Capote’s In Cold Blood. Her favourite authors include Chevy Stevens, Alice Sebold, Hugh Howey, Mo Hayder, Maria Snyder, John Saul, and Margaret Atwood.

About the author, Lisa Marietta Gold:

Luisa Marietta Gold Corvetta mysteryLuisa Marietta Gold was born in Pennsylvania where she spent a large part of her adult life. She moved to North Carolina after the birth of her only daughter. She published her debut novel, Escape to Osprey Cove, which is Book 1 of The Osprey Cove Lodge series in September 2016. The Osprey Cove Series was born from Luisa’s love of the Rideau Lake region of Canada, the outdoors, and lake life. She spent many years enjoying the Rideau region while staying in lodges reminiscent of the lodge in her first novel. She currently resides on eleven acres in her North Carolina home near an idyllic lake with her husband and several mixed labs. She spends as much time as possible enjoying the beauty of the lake. Luisa also does acrylic painting. The cover of her debut book which features The Lady Droxell on a Canadian lake was painted by her. It was very satisfying to Luisa to know that she created the entire project. There is a tea room not far from her home where one selects a hat to wear while dining as did Libby and Rosalind in the book. And sometimes they are silly! Luisa’s bio picture was taken there!

Let Us Make Man: The Awakening by John Hipskind

free science fiction todayMankind’s origins are shrouded in the fog of a time lost long ago… it was the time of our first footprint, our first breath. It is a saga we struggle to piece together today with scattered bits of bone and rock, and with our ancient myths and legends.
The story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden speaks of that ancient time, but before that story begins, there is this story…the struggle of the first of our kind to arise from a primeval species of two-legged creatures… and of their harrowing journey to awaken in the dawn of a new reality.

Born in the cataclysm, raised with a band of ragged hominid survivors, an ascendant Adam ultimately becomes the victim of his own pride as his world collapses around him. Lured by a mysterious stranger sent to “bring him in,” he soon discovers he must escape now (with help from some unlikely allies) from a demonic underground realm of torture and death. But first, he must save his love, Eve, the girl from his vision, from a world consumed by the flames of the eternal war between Good and Evil… before humanity is lost to the dark side forever.

Follow the first humans as they battle for their very souls in a place where worlds… and realities… collide.

If only it was just a nightmare.

Goodreads reviews of The Territory of Lies by Ciana Stone:

42927213Amanda Barbee‘s review

I am definitely no stranger to the work of Ciana Stone, but this was better than I could have imagined. I’m definitely one of those habit forming readers, once I like a book from an author I will pretty much read anything they write, even if by the end of a book it isn’t my cup of tea, I still read it.

This story was slightly out of the zone of my reads lately but it was entertaining and it kept me in the story. The drama, well I guess you could call it more suspense than drama, was spot on and something I have come to expect from this author. I love the characters, they were so well developed! The pacing of the story was a bit slow for me but it didn’t necessarily take away from the quality I would just personally have liked it a bit quicker.

Well done Ciana Stone!! Another success!!

Orphan Jack Templar has no memory of his parents and only the smallest details from his Aunt Sophie about how they died. The day before Jack’s fourteenth birthday, things start to change for him. At first it’s great: A sudden new strength helps him defend his nose-picking friend “T-Rex” from the school bully, and even his crush, Cindy Adams, takes notice. But then a mysterious girl named Eva arrives and tells him two facts that will change his life forever. First, that he’s the descendent of a long line of monster hunters and he’s destined to be in the family business. Second, that there’s a truce between man and monster that children are off-limits…until their fourteenth birthday! Jack has only one day before hundreds of monsters will descend on his little town of Sunnyvale and try to kill him.

As if that weren’t enough, things get even more complicated when Jack discovers that the Lord of the Creach (as the monsters are collectively known) holds a personal grudge against him and will do anything to see that Jack has a slow and painful death. To stay alive and save his friends, Jack will have to battle werewolves, vampires, harpies, trolls, zombies and more. But perhaps the most dangerous thing he must face is the truth about his past. Why do the other hunters call him the last Templar? Why do they whisper that he may be the “One?” Why do the monsters want him dead so badly?  Even as these questions plague him, he quickly discovers survival is his new full-time job and that in the world of monster hunters, nothing is really what it seems.

Reconcilable Differences: A ‘Having It All’ Novel by M A Clarke Scott

scottKate is a survivor.

Fifteen years after her breakdown, Kate has built a successful career as a family mediator, specializing in couple’s reconciliation. In fact, she’s about to receive a prestigious award for her accomplishments.

Her latest mediation brings together a young couple on the brink of divorce, and only Kate’s expertise and sensitivity can save them. It also, unexpectedly, reconnects her with former lover Simon Sharpe, who represents the high and the low points of her life, uncomfortably forcing her to revisit her difficult and painful past.

Still haunted by her unrequited love, Simon’s reemergence in Kate’s life exhumes memories of trauma and heartbreak, along with unwanted feelings of insecurity and self-doubt she believed were long resolved. As Simon and Kate steer their feuding, secretive clients towards reconciliation and navigate their confusing past, their own relationship reignites and takes them on an unexpected path.

About the author, M A Clarke Scott:

M A Clarke ScottM A Clarke Scott’s early loves included two things: books and art. In her world view, blank white pages, canvasses and even blank white walls, were begging for her creations.

Neither of these passions have waned, despite all the other adventures she’s had in the meantime. She wrote her first romance novel at the age of nine, but soon abandoned both writing and drawing for a career in architecture, then an academic career in environmental gerontology. Tiring of both, and still none the richer, she has returned to her first loves, writing and art.

Scott writes about young women on journeys abroad who discover themselves and fall in love while getting embroiled in someone else’s problems… and professional women struggling to balance the challenge and fulfillment of their career with their search for identity, love, family and home. She also loves to weave dramatic relationships into close-to-home sci-fi adventure plots, particularly in the steampunk and cyberpunk sub-genres.

M A Scott lives with a small menagerie of large men and small mammals on the beautiful West Coast of British Columbia, and though she knows she lives in paradise, still loves traveling the world in search of romance and adventure.

About the author, Daniel Campbell:

Daniel CampbellHi, I’m Daniel Campbell.

I’m the brains behind Dead on Demand which I co-wrote with my less intelligent, and less attractive older brother.

As you can tell, I’m also extremely modest and witty too.

My debut novel started out as a challenge – I’ve never written anything before (bar my own name, and even then I sometimes misspell that).

I wanted to prove that anyone, no matter what their background, could write a novel in just 90 days. I ended up finishing in just 48 days including writing it, editing, formatting, cover art, publishing and marketing.

All this, at the same time as doing my GCSE exams. So if you’re thinking about writing a novel, then give it a shot. If I can do it, I’m sure you can too.
