Escape to Osprey Cove: Book 1 of The Osprey Cove Lodge Series by Luisa Marietta Gold

Escape to Osprey CoveWhat Doug finds in the secret compartment of his new red Corvette will forever change his life. It will also change Catherine’s. Doug and Catherine come from two different worlds. Catherine’s world is one of privilege and wealth. Doug grew up dirt poor and full of envy of others who had the things that he wanted but could not have. His goal was to one day have all the things he coveted. Their worlds collide when Catherine, VP of a large New York City marketing firm, hires Doug. As soon as Doug learns of Catherine’s wealth, he sees Catherine as his ticket to all the things he covets. After a whirlwind courtship, they are married.

Poor boy meets rich girl should have resulted in “happily ever after” — not exactly. Doug quickly learns he also covets independence. Events begin to unfold in each of their lives. For Doug, it is his mysterious discovery in the secret compartment of the Corvette. For Catherine, it is a business meeting with Alex Droxell at the Osprey Cove Lodge. When Catherine enters the beautiful and serene lodge, it’s as though she is entering another place and time. The lodge is an escape from the nightmare she is living back home. Follow the twists and turns of Book 1 of the Osprey Cove Lodge Series. Follow Doug and Catherine’s story to see if there is a “happily ever after” and with whom.

EXCERPT:
It appeared to Catherine as though she had just approached Mr. Darcy’s Pemberly in all its magnificence. Now she knew how Elizabeth felt at her first sighting of Pemberly. But unlike Elizabeth, Catherine thought, there would be no happy ending. This would not become her home one day, as Pemberly had become Elizabeth’s, and live happily ever after. Catherine did not covet the house that lay before her. In fact, Catherine was wealthy enough to buy a home like it, if she so desired. What Catherine did long for was what Pemberly represented to all Jane Austen lovers — the culmination of a beautiful love affair. Catherine was not naive enough to expect her life to be storybook in nature. But she did not expect her life with Doug to disintegrate into shambles just two years after marrying him. She did not understand why it was happening. She did not know how to fix it.

About the author of Escape to Osprey Cove, Luisa Marietta Gold:

author of Escape to Osprey Cove, Luisa Marietta GoldLuisa Marietta Gold was born in Pennsylvania where she spent a large part of her adult life. She moved to North Carolina after the birth of her only daughter. She published her debut novel, Escape to Osprey Cove, which is Book 1 of The Osprey Cove Lodge series in September 2016. The Osprey Cove Series was born from Luisa’s love of the Rideau Lake region of Canada, the outdoors, and lake life. She spent many years enjoying the Rideau region while staying in lodges reminiscent of the lodge in her first novel. She currently resides on eleven acres in her North Carolina home near an idyllic lake with her husband and several mixed labs. She spends as much time as possible enjoying the beauty of the lake. Luisa also does acrylic painting. The cover of her debut book which features The Lady Droxell on a Canadian lake was painted by her. It was very satisfying to Luisa to know that she created the entire project. There is a tea room not far from her home where one selects a hat to wear while dining as did Libby and Rosalind in the book. And sometimes they are silly. Luisa’s bio picture was taken there.

Buck Brennan – Bad Decisions on Sale Now

Buck spent his whole life living a lie and struggling with being an asshole. This is his story.

Bad Decisions: Life Is Hard, Especially When You’re an Asshole by Buck Brennan

Buck BrennanThis is the vivid, heartbreaking, and harrowing true story of what life is life as an asshole. Some critics are calling it the most important book since the Bible. It is the kind of book that will change your life forever. If you don’t believe me, my third cousin from Jersey didn’t read it, and he’s still on heroin. My neighbor didn’t read it either, and he is still really fat. My nan and pap didn’t read it. Now they are both dead.

Buck Brennan spent his whole life living a lie, the same way gay people do before they realize they are gay. He tried to fit in and do things he thought normal people do like have manners, chew with their mouth closed, and not pee all over the toilet seat, but it never felt natural to Buck. Deep down inside he had this burning desire to talk during movies, wipe boogies on the couch, put empty milk cartons back in the fridge, and squeeze the toothpaste from the top.

Even as small a child, Buck would find himself staring off into the distance in parking lots, longing for the day when he could someday drive his own car so he could take up two spaces. Buck spent his whole life struggling with being an asshole. This is his story.

About the author, Buck Brennan:

BuckBuck Brennan is best known for being late for work, gross farts, and yelling at his kids in Wal-Mart.

Buck came from very humble beginnings where he remains even today. He was born in 1979 in rural Pennsylvania just outside of Philadelphia where he would spend the better part of his childhood masturbating to his dad’s Penthouse magazines. By the time he was 14, he was considered to be one of the most active masturbaters of his generation. Eventually he got married and had two kids named Tucker and Macy, but his love for masturbation never waned. In fact, he still masturbates today when no one is home or when he is the shower.

By the time Buck was 25, he needed to find a Goddamn job and move the fuck out so he could start paying for his own goddamn bills already. At least that is what his parents were always telling him. What his parents didn’t understand was that he was a Psychology major, and Psychology majors don’t get good jobs or move out of their parents’ house. Without the charm or good looks to enter the lucrative world of pharma sales like his parents wanted him to, Buck did the only thing he could to make money. He became a high school guidance counselor. Currently, Buck lives in rural PA with his dog, his cat, and his two children. In his free time, he enjoys giving Dutch Ovens, complaining about stuff, and fighting with his ex-wife.

Beyond 2020: A story of liberty lost, hope and recovery by Thomas Settimi

Thomas Settimi free kindle bookNo one could have predicted it.

After nearly four years marked by an impressive list of accomplishments — even in the face of harsh resistance from the opposition party — the administration looked forward to successfully completing the final year of the President’s first term, winning re-election and moving on to four more years of service to the country and her people.

What, then, could possibly have derailed the President’s plan, denying him what was believed to be an assured victory in November 2020?

“Elections have consequences,” we are reminded. In the months and years that followed, the voices of Talk Radio sounded the warning that the New Socialism would methodically suppress the freedoms promised in the Constitution, but it would take an America at the brink of revolution to restore what was lost.

About the author, Thomas Settimi:

Thomas SettimiThomas Settimi graduated from the Institute of Technology at the University of Minnesota and holds a Master’s Degree in Physics from the University of California at Riverside. For much of his early professional career he was engaged in technical writing and engineering for the Department of the Navy and defense-related firms. He later became the general manager of a manufacturing firm in Huntington Beach, California.

As a youth, Thomas Settimi enjoyed Robert Heinlein, especially THE DOOR INTO SUMMER and EARTH ABIDES by George R. Stewart. Favorite novel: Stephen King’s 11.22.63.

Thomas Settimi recently moved from Lake Arrowhead California, to Brookings, Oregon, where he resides with his wife, Charlotte.
